Our goal is to keep you moving right up to Thanksgiving because as you know on average Americans gain 5-10lbs over the holidays. We also want to keep you in good spirits, happy, healthy and low stress and there’s nothing better than a daily dose of endorphins from your daily workouts! I’m looking forward to motivating everyone through this Fall Challenge! All the full workouts with instructions for ALL levels are in the club in our Virtual Gym and the fee to use the club is $20 a month with no long term commitment. You can stop & start the club anytime. The Hollywood Trainer Club is a mobile website and functions better than an app. You can play all the workouts from your phone or computer.

Instructions

  1. Mash half of an avocado with a squeeze of lime
  2. Add a dash of Himalayan salt and pepper
  3. Pan fry the Eggologly Liquid Egg Whites in a non-stick pan with Olive Oil Cooking spray
  4. Then toast the piece of bread
  5. Spread the avocado mixture on top of the bread
  6. Then add two to three pieces of arugula

Pesto Zucchini Noodles with Cannellini Beans

Substitute pasta for zucchini noodles and reduce calories, carbohydrates and sugar but still enjoy all the delicious Mediterranean flavors that most of us crave in Italian dishes. Ingredients

  • 4 cups zucchini noodles
  • 15 oz can cannellini beans
  • 12 oz package heirloom tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp parmigiano-reggiano cheese
  • 5 oz spinach
  • 1 tbsp fresh chopped basil
  • 2 cloves chopped garlic
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp Pine Nuts
  • Himalayan salt
  • Pepper

Instructions

  1. Add 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1 clove chopped garlic and Cannellini beans into a deep skillet , sauté on medium to high heat for 4 minutes. Add heirloom tomatoes and chopped basil continue to sauté for an additional 3 minutes. 
  2. Turn heat down to medium, add spinach, remaining olive oil and garlic into skillet cook for another 3 to 5 minutes. 
  3. Toss zucchini noodles and pine nuts into skillet and continue cooking for another 3 to 4 minutes. Top with Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, salt and pepper to taste. * Optional, add a dash of red crushed peppers if you want an spicer flavor.

  • 1 cup Eggology Liquid Egg Whites
  • 6 cherry tomatoes cut in halves
  • 4 leaves of spinach
  • 1 basil leaf, chopped

  • 1 tbsp parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • a dash of Himalayan salt
  • a dash of pepper

Instructions

1. Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees F.

2. Coat a small ovenproof, nonstick skillet with the olive oil and heat the skillet over medium heat and sauté onions for 5 mins.

3. Pour the Eggology Liquid Egg Whites into the skillet, then add tomatoes, basil, spinach, Himalayan salt and pepper and cook for 1 minute, or until the eggs start to set.

4. Sprinkle the top with parmesan cheese
 
5. Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 5 to 6 minutes, or until the top is golden and puffy.

6. Remove the frittata from the oven and let it stand for 5 minutes and serve with a side salad

Ingredients

  • 1 small whole wheat tortilla
  • 1/2 organic spinach chicken sausage
  • 1/2 oz pepper jack cheese
  • 1/2 cup Eggology Liquid Egg Whites
  • 2 tbsp fresh pico de gallo
  • 1 tbsp diced avocado
  • 2 tbsp black beans
  • pepper
  • Himalayan

Instructions

  1. Coat the pan with Coconut Oil or Olive Oil Non-Stick Cooking Spray 
  2. Pan fry the organic spinach chicken sausage for 3 to 5mins and place to the side
  3. Scramble the Eggology Organic Liquid Egg Whites with a dash of Himalayan salt and pepper in a pan over medium heat for 3-5mins until solid white
  4. In a large skillet lightly sprayed with Coconut Oil or Olive Oil Non-Stick Cooking Spray , warm the tortilla on both sides. 
  5. Place the tortilla on a flat surface & mound ingredients: egg white mixture, organic spinach chicken sausage, pepper jack cheese, fresh pico de gallo, diced avocado, black beans 
  6. Roll into a burrito, plate with a side salad and enjoy! 
  • Optional: season with your favorite hot sauce.

They are great mommy savers to save you time when you have to grab some healthy snacks or breakfast for the kids. They are also great for lunch or dinner just add a side salad or some vegetables for a complete meal. These also make a great sandwich just add them onto an english muffin, pita bread or whole wheat bread with some additional tomatoes and lettuce for a delicious sandwich. You can remix this recipe with any of your favorite ingredients that you would typically use for an omelet. Ingredients:

  • 6 cups Eggology Egg Whites
  • 1/4 cup Skim Mozzarella Cheese
  • 1/2 cup Red Peppers
  • 1/2 cup Orange Peppers
  • 1 cup Cherry Tomatoes
  • 1 cup Spinach
  • Ground Pepper

Steps:

  • Coat the muffin tins with cooking oil
  • Place all of the chopped veggies in the muffin tin
  • Fill each muffin tin with Eggology Liquid Egg Whites
  • Sprinkle Low Fat Mozzarella  (or parmesan, feta  or you favorite low fat cheese) on top of each muffin
  • Sprinkle on pepper and Himalayan Salt
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 30mins
  • Let cool and enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup of Organic Eggology Liquid Egg Whites
  • 1/2 cup organic rolled oats
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 1 whole banana
  • 1 cup strawberries
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • coconut oil cooking spray
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 4 tbsp water

Instructions

  1. In a blender blend the rolled oats by themselves for 30seconds until they turn into a powder then add Organic Eggology Liquid Egg Whites, vanilla protein powder, cinnamon, water, baking powder and banana 
  2. Blend on high speed for 1 to 2 minutes, or until smooth.
  3. Spray coconut oil onto a pan and bring to medium heat.
  4. Pour 2 tablespoons of the pancake mixture into the pan for each pancake
  5. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, turn gently, and brown the other side
  6. To serve, top the pancakes with the strawberries and sliced bananas (Optional add 1tablespoon of maple syrup, additional 52 calories)

Ingredients

  • 1 Whole Wheat Tortilla
  • 1/2 cup of Organic Eggology Liquid Egg Whites
  • 1/4 cup of Organic Skim Milk Cheese
  • 1/4 cup of chopped Orange & Green Peppers
  • 1/4 cup of chopped Onions
  • 2 slices of chopped Organic Turkey Bacon

Instructions

  1. Pan Fry the Chopped Turkey Bacon and remove from pan to the side.
  2. Sautée with water the peppers & onions on medium heat and remove from pan to the side.
  3. Coat pan lightly with coconut oil, set temperature on medium heat and add Eggology Liquid Egg Whites, add the bacon and peppers & onions and cook into either an omelet or scramble then remove from heat.
  4. Coat pan lightly with coconut oil and place tortilla in the pan on low heat, sprinkle half the tortilla with cheese then add the Eggology Egg White mixture, sprinkle more cheese on top then fold the tortilla in half, flip to brown both sides and remove from heat.
  5. Cut and plate the Eggology Egg White Quesadilla with a side of pico de gallo, limes, avocado slices and Non-fat Greek yogurt and Enjoy! So Delicious!

Taco Tuesday & 30Day New Year Bootcamp Challenge

Lettuce Cup Tacos

It’s Taco Tuesday! You must try these delicious Lettuce Cup Tacos! Replacing the tortilla with lettuce cups will lower the amount of calories by 150-300calories per taco. The organic Salsa used in this recipe instead of taco seasoning also lowers your sodium intake. This recipe uses nonfat plain Greek Yogurt instead of sour cream to lower sugar, fat and increase protein. One taco is 4oz of beef. ~4 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 pound 95% lean organic ground beef
  • 1 jar of Trader Joe’s Organic Tomatillo & Roasted Yellow Chili Salsa
  • Lettuce
  • 8 cherry tomatoes, diced, or 1/2 tomato, diced
  • 2 tbsp nonfat Greek yogurt
  • 1/4 cup shredded reduced-fat Monterey Jack cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook in a prewarmed medium skillet on medium heat until the beef is browned, then remove from heat and drain off any excess fat.
  2. Clean skillet and add beef and organic salsa and warm over medium-high heat
  3. Take one lettuce leaf and mound the beef mixture, cheese, yogurt, diced tomatoes, and fold from top and bottom to form the taco

Stay Hydrated Before, After and During your Workout with Simple Truth Water!

7 Simple Reasons You Should Drink Water

Water is Life and it is important to stay hydrated before, during and after working out. Here are 7 simple reasons you should stay hydrated.
 
1) Every Living Cell in Your Body Needs Water: Make sure your body is properly hydrated so your cells can function at their best. 60% of your bodyweight is water.
 
2) Fat Burning: Water is needed in your muscle cell for the fat burning process.
 
3) Digestion & Elimination: For proper digestion and elimination, your body needs water in your stomach and throughout your intestines. When your body is dehydrated the acids that are released to help breakdown food cannot be diluted properly and can cause damage to the lining of your stomach. Dehydration can also lead to constipation because your intestines need water to keep everything moving out. 
 
4) Synovial Fluid in your joints: The fluid found around your joints require water for proper lubrication and chronic dehydration can increase your risk of arthritis, tendinitis and other forms of joint pain. 
 
5) Blood Flow: Your bloodstream requires water to transport nutrients throughout the body and to function with proper blood pressure. 
 
6) Skin: Chronic dehydration can also lead to dry skin and other skin disorders like eczema. The cells of your epidermis/skin need water.
 
7) Headaches & Migraines: Dehydration causes your blood volume to drop which in turn lowers the flow of blood and oxygen to the brain. Your brain tissue loses water and this can lead to headaches and migraines. 
 
Half your bodyweight and drink that number in ounces of water a day, adding more during those workouts with a high sweat factor. So if you weigh 150lbs you should be drinking 75ounces of water. Carry water with you all day. Keep a bottle with you in your purse, gym bag, at your desk, wherever you regularly spend time.
 

STEAK SALAD

Enjoy this steak salad made from Simple Truth Organic ingredients. This is a perfect post-workout meal and easy to prepare in 5-10 minutes. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 4 oz Simple Truth Grass Fed Top Sirloin Beef
  • 2 cups Simple Truth Organic 50/50 Blend Spinach and Spring Mix
  • 1 cup Simple Truth Organic Grape Tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup Purple Onion
  • 2 tbsp Simple Truth Lite Raspberry Vinaigrette
  • 1/4 cup Feta Cheese
  • 1/4 cup Yellow Grape Tomatoes

Instructions

  1. First sauté the steak in a saucepan with water, Himalayan salt and pepper over medium heat.
  2. Then chop up the tomatoes and onions.
  3. Put the salad, tomatoes and onions on a salad plate.
  4. Slice up cooked steak and place on top of salad.
  5. Sprinkle feta cheese over salad.
  6. Drizzle raspberry vinaigrette. 
  7. For additional flavor you can squeeze lime over salad as well.
  8. Enjoy!

7 Healthy Holiday Tips

The holidays are here and it’s time to see the people you love and care about as well as celebrate all that you’ve accomplished this year. Staying active through the holidays will

  • increase your energy levels
  • strengthen your immune system putting you at less risk of getting sick
  • give you a boost of endorphins so you feel less stressed and full of joy 

and much more. Here are 7 Tips to keep you on track this holiday season.

1. Make the choice to see the positive in every situation this holiday. Don’t stress over the small stuff. If you look for the bad you will have a bad experience. If you look for the good you will have a good experience. The choice is yours!

2. Hydrate! Drink plenty of water before your meal. We tend to eat larger portion sizes when dehydrated.

3. If you’re going out for drinks, order water or iced tea for the first round. By the time you finish, your friends may have already finished two or three cocktails, while you’ve saved yourself 500 to 600 calories. And sometimes you’ll be so into the entertainment of everyone else, you might not even want a drink by then!

4. Make it a family affair. Get active with your family members by doing a fun workout together like Cardio Kickboxing or a fun activity like ice skating or even just a walk around the neighborhood. 

5. Eat your veggies first. Don’t dive right into carbs! Start with a green salad followed by protein, and then go for another vegetable. Save a treat-size portion of carbohydrates for last. When you have stuffing or mac ‘n’ cheese, have a half cup or full cup — no more.

6. Offer healthy spins on holiday favorites. When it comes to sweet potatoes, people always want to add marshmallows and brown sugar. Enjoy some fresh sweet potatoes, and don’t add anything. Instead of a broccoli cheese casserole, opt for broccoli with shaved almonds flavored with chicken broth.

7. If it’s too cold outside, find an online exercise program to do at home. There’s so much fitness instruction available on social media and the Internet. Use it to your advantage. I created an online club, The Hollywood Trainer Club, where I have 330 workouts and challenges! I even do the workouts myself in a small space — either an office or a hotel room if I’m traveling. Not only do at-home workouts let you avoid the cold, but you save time by not having to commute to the gym. Best of all, there’s no worrying about your outfit when you’re working up a sweat in the living room!

Mom makes the best chili, and hers is even better the next day. If you like, divide it into individual containers and freeze for easy meals later in the month. Many companies make organic ketchup, so you can have the great taste without the high-fructose corn syrup, food coloring, additives, and preservatives. The same goes for Worcestershire sauce (Annie’s Naturals is one of my favorites). Remember to read the ingredients and buy the product with the fewest additives. 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 8 oz lean ground turkey (7% fat)
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh basil
  • 1 tbsp dried oregano
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper diced
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 1 cup chopped celery
  • 1 cup chopped carrots
  • 1 cup chopped zucchini
  • 1 (19-ounce) can bean medley containing navy beans, lima beans, kidney beans, and chickpeas.
  • 1 (12-ounce) can corn kernels, or 12 ounces frozen corn
  • 1 (28-ounce) can diced tomatoes (no added salt or sugar)
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 4 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 tbsp cumin

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium heat. 
  2. Sauté the garlic for 2 to 3 minutes, or until it begins to brown. 
  3. Add the ground turkey, basil, and oregano and continue to cook about 10 minutes, until the turkey is golden brown.
  4. In a large saucepan, combine the turkey mixture with the red and yellow peppers, onion, celery, carrots, zucchini, beans, corn, tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, chili powder, and cumin. 
  5. Bring to a boil over medium heat. 
  6. Reduce heat to low and simmer, covered, for 30 to 45 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender. 
  7. Stir the chili occasionally as it cooks so it does not stick to the saucepan.

  • 1 Banana
  • 2 thick slices of Pineapple
  • 1 Avocado
  • 5 Strawberries
  • Fresh Mint
  • 2 leaves of Kale

Instructions

1. Put the ice and water in the blender and top with 1 banana, 2 thick slices of pineapple, 1 avocado, 5 strawberries, 2 leaves of kale and fresh mint

5 Happiness Tips

Staying positive is one of the best things you can do for your health! Stress increases your risk of every illness from headaches and ulcers to high blood pressure and cancer. Of course it’s easy to say just be happy but sometimes it can be a challenge so here are some happiness tips that can help you stay in the happy lane!

1. Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff. When you have a bump in the road, which often happens to all of us, take a pause and ask yourself, how much will this matter in 5years? Often the answer is that it won’t matter much at all so don’t waste time sweating or stressing over it. Keep it moving and spend your energy on the things that matter.

2. Choose Gratitude. Try to always stay in a state of gratitude because being grateful for life and all of your life experiences is the door to happiness. Choosing gratitude is a great way to turn your frown upside down. If you are experiencing a challenging day or a challenging moment, take a moment to write down or think of 5 things that you are grateful for. As you move through those 5 things, take a moment to visualize them and each one will help you return to joy and happiness.

3. Let a painful moment from the past stay in the past. Many of us have experienced painful moments in life and every time you talk about this painful experience you are actually living through those emotions again and that definitely does not feel good. Choose to let the past stay in the past don’t let bad experiences from the past steal your present joy. Stay in the present moment and enjoy the now!

4. Start the day with a workout, positive thought and/or meditation. When you wake up each day before you begin all of your daily chores, the never ending to do list and responding to all of the requests from work and family, take a moment for yourself. Starting your day with a workout will give you a boost of endorphins (happy hormones) which will help you start the day feeling positive about yourself and your day ahead. The workout options are endless: 10-20min power walk, jog, yoga, hike, kickboxing class, cycling class, online/internet club workout. Choosing a positive thought or reading daily positive quotes are also great to set your day in a positive direction. Meditation, focusing on your positive intentions for the day and visualizing yourself putting those intentions into action are also a very powerful ways to start your day.

5. Fuel your body with a healthy balanced meal plan. Most of us have all experienced “hangry” that moment when you feel like you are going to snap on someone if you don’t get some food in your system. You get angry or irritable because you have low blood sugar. Well it doesn’t just happen to children, adults who are not following a healthy meal plan can and do experience hangry! Here’s an example of a balanced day of healthy eating. 

BreakfastEggology Vegetable Egg White Omelet with Side Salad & Avocado
Snack -Grapefruit
Lunch – Turkey Sandwich on Whole Wheat Bread with Lettuce, Tomatoes & Mustard and Side Salad
Snack – Green Juice with 3-5 cups of Spinach, 1 Apple, 1/2 Lemon & 1 inch piece of Ginger
Dinner – Wild Alaskan Sockeye Salmon with Sweet Potato and Asparagus

Here is the recipe for our Organic Eggology Veggie Egg White Omelet with a Side Salad. It is an excellent balanced meal with healthy protein to help you feel satisfied and full. Colorful vegetables & avocado packed with nutrients and healthy fat. Simple and easy to prepare, this is a great meal to have any time of day, Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Egg Whites/Eggology
  • 1/2 cup Mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup Red & Yellow Peppers
  • 1/2 cup Grape or Cherry Tomatoes
  • 1 cup Spinach
  • 1/2 whole Lemon Juice from fresh whole Lemon
  • 1 tsp Himalayan Salt
  • 1 tsp Pepper

Instructions

  1. First Steam/ Sauté with water the Mushrooms, Red Peppers and Spinach in a sauce pan. Set the cooked items to the side. 
  2. In a clean pan lightly melt coconut oil to avoid sticking on medium to high heat. Once the oil is melted and the pan is hot add in the egg whites and cook until all transparency is gone and egg white is solid. Add a dash of Himalayan Salt and Pepper for additional flavor, flip to lightly brown both sides. 
  3. Remove Egg White Omelet from the pan and fill the Omelet with the sautéed mushrooms, peppers and spinach and add raw tomatoes. 
  4. Add a side salad to the side of your plate with 2 cups of mixed greens, 4-5 grape tomatoes and 1/4 sliced avocado. Top salad off with freshly squeezed lemon or your favorite balsamic or low-calorie dressing for additional flavor.

These also make a great sandwich just add them onto an english muffin, pita bread or whole wheat bread with some additional tomatoes and lettuce for a delicious sandwich. You can remix this recipe with any of your favorite ingredients that you would typically use for an omelet. Enjoy!

  • 6 tbsp Parmsean
  • 1/2 cup Red Peppers

  • 1 cup Cherry Tomatoes

  • Himalayan Salt

Instructions

  1. Coat the muffin tins with cooking oil
  2. Place all of the chopped veggies in the muffin tin
  3. Fill each muffin tin with Eggology Liquid Egg Whites
  4. Sprinkle parmesan on top of each muffin
  5. Sprinkle on pepper and Himalayan Salt
  6. Bake at 350 degrees for 30mins
  7. Let cool and enjoy!

It’s the final week of our 6 Weeks of Running with Jeanette Jenkinschallenge! Congratulations to everyone that has made it this far! It’s never too late to join us! This week our goal is 6.2 miles!  Beginners walk for 1min and run/jog for 6mins. Advanced and Intermediate runners complete the full 6.2 miles which is 10 kilometers. If you are training for a marathon or longer race then challenge yourself with a long run on Saturday or Sunday.

This program is perfect for beginners, intermediate and advanced. We are challenging you to run/walk two times a week and cross-train three times a week. All the workouts for the three cross-training days are in The Hollywood Trainer Club and they include Power Yoga, Body Sculpting, WeightTraining, Bootcamp, Pilates, Core, Focused Ab Work, Kickboxing, and so much more . The workouts are convenient you can do them on your phone, on your computer or your tablet anytime anywhere. The run/walk you can do outdoors or on a treadmill.
